LG firmly on course to boost its notebook PC business in 2007

Anticipating a further stability in notebook PC prices during 2007, global and regional leader LG Electronics has forecast a positive scenario for its notebook PC sales in 2007.

Pointing to a healthy 22.6 per cent growth in its notebook and PC business during 2006, Mr. K. W. Kim, President, LG Electronics - Middle East and Africa operations, said that with notebook PCs emerging as the centrepiece of convergence devices, LG would endeavour to lead this trend with continuous innovation and price control of the products.

Launching LG's latest notebook PC offering, the Z1Pro Express Dual, Kim said: 'LG's notebook PC business was boosted last year due to our aggressive marketing and the launch of two innovative products - the groundbreaking C1 and the environment-friendly TX Express - which are selling well in all regions. The ground has now been set to surpass our targets for this year.'

'The introduction of the Z1Pro Express Dual notebook further underlines LG's expertise in the notebook PC segment,' Kim added. 'We are confident that with our range of premium products, we will gain a competitive advantage in the notebook market for 2007. LG will strengthen its penetration into the premium market by enhancing its existing line-up of notebook PCs to cater to every possible segment.'

By launching the Z1, LG has strengthened its business notebook portfolio for professionals on the move. The LG Z1Pro is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo T7200 2.0GHz processor, 1GB of DDR2 RAM and a 12.1-inch wide XGA screen. It features an in-lid secondary display based on the NVIDIA Preface media platform.

The Z1Pro also features the latest Windows Vista Premium Home edition, and a large hard disk capacity ranging from 80GB to 160GB* that guarantees to run the core experiences of the next generation operating system flawlessly. By using Preface to enable Windows SideShow, consumers will have 'always-on' access to multimedia content and software gadgets via a secondary display embedded in the notebook lid.

The Z1Pro Express Dual sports superior performance and stylish looks with its piano black, glossy finish, and weighs just 1.94kg. A portable design, stylish bright display, extended battery life, and multimedia features make it the perfect portable machine.

Windows SideShow is a new technology that allows the Windows Vista operating system to drive auxiliary displays providing consumers with faster to use bite-size bits of information. The nVIDIA Preface allows consumers to link to programs and data stored on the main system even when the notebook is in standby mode or turned off.

Equipped with high-performance internal hi-powered speakers of 3W (1.5 x 2), and the latest audio technology such as SRS WOW HD and SRS TruSurround XT, the Z1Pro delivers rich stereo sound. Some features that can be used without draining the battery life include music playback, photo slideshow, e-mails, calendars, world clocks, RSS feeds and more.

Additional features include wireless capability, Bluetooth, a 5-in-1 multimedia card slot, and a DVD Combo/DVD Super Multi Dual Layer.
